👏🏼 Let's start cleaning out your closet!

Hi you ⭐️

Welcome to this brand spanking new Saturday newsletter!

Thank you so much for allowing me inside your inbox during the weekend ♥️

I know it might sound kind of daunting to have a new email to read on Saturdays, but I promise I will make these fun and actionable!

There's a reason why I thought of Saturdays for these emails; I bet the weekends are a good time for you to start cleaning out your closet.

So let's get started with that :)

In the next month, I'm going to tackle a new subject related to closet clean outs. These will be shared in a logical order and with a specific task in mind. I recommend that you save these emails for future reference or take note of the highlights.

The first thing that you have to know is that it's all about mindset when cleaning out your closet. This is not something you do on a random day just because.

It's important that you schedule the time for it, and that you are in the right mood. Also, make sure you don't do this during the bloated days of your cycle. Or when coming back from a trip after indulging on a bunch of delicious foods 🤤.

You will need to try things on, and our bodies can look and feel different depending on the time of the month, which can be very misleading when deciding what to keep or what to donate.

This is how I like to prepare for a big closet purge:

1️⃣ Set your intentions: Why are you doing this? Maybe you want to simplify your life, create a capsule wardrobe, or make more space for items that truly reflect your style. Whatever your reason, keep it front and center. It will help you stay committed and keep going.

2️⃣ Schedule the purge! A successful closet purge doesn’t happen in a hurry. Set aside dedicated time—whether it’s a full weekend or a few hours each day over the course of a week. Block this time off in your calendar so you can focus fully on the task at hand, free from distractions.

3️⃣ Gather your supplies: Before you dive in, make sure you have everything you need. Here’s a quick checklist:

✅ Trash bags or boxes for items to donate, re-sale or discard. (3 different ones, one for each category)

✅ Hangers to organize the clothes you’re keeping. (My favorite ones are light-colored velvet hangers!)

✅ Cleaning supplies to dust off shelves and wipe down surfaces.

✅ A full-length mirror to try on items if you’re unsure about them. If possible, take mirror selfies to also make sure they look cute in pics.

✅ A notebook or your phone to take notes on anything missing from your wardrobe. (I will help you with this later on)

4️⃣ Create a positive environment: This is where you'll need a little mirror pep-talk. It's ok if the reason why you're wanting to purge is because you've changed sizes. Have grace with yourself. It's ok! You're not supposed to fit your clothes, your clothes are supposed to fit YOU! And there are plenty of clothes out there that will not only fit you, but they'll make you feel good about yourself.

So go ahead, light up a candle, play your favorite music and heck, pour yourself a glass of your favorite beverage and create a positive environment for what's coming next. You've got this 💪🏼

5️⃣ Ask the right questions! As you go through each item, ask yourself these 10 questions:

10 Questions To Ask Yourself About Each Piece When Cleaning Out Your Closet!

These 10 questions are all very important. But pay close attention to #1, #6 and #10.

Don't worry if once you start taking things out, your closet starts to look empty. That's the whole point of this!

We tend to associate emptiness with a lack of something, and this is absolutely not true when it comes to clothes. There is nothing wrong with having a small functional closet. It's actually the ultimate goal.

Believe it or not, by having less things you free up space from your mind. Every little thing you own, takes space in your mind. We experienced this when we sold everything we owned and started living out of a suitcase. I truly felt like a new person after we got rid of almost everything!

Now, I know this is a little extreme LOL - I don't want you to do this (unless you of course, want to). But I do want to help you get rid of all the things that are not serving you 🙅🏻‍♀️

30 Pieces - 100 Outfits Capsule Wardrobe Challenge!

Here's a fun way to get you started with getting rid of the things that are not serving you and keeping (or adding) classic, timeless pieces that will never go out of style!

Let's do it together :) Can you spot the pieces I styled the most? 👀

I'm going to be in the same place for 3 months, and I only packed 30 pieces with me (including shoes). With these basic 30 pieces, I will be able to create 100 different looks for very different occasions. That's enough for a whole season, girlfriend.

I will explain this more in detail next Saturday because this email is already TOO LONG! But this is happening ok?

I'm going to help you clean out your closet 👏🏼 And then you're going to create your very own capsule wardrobe and outfit formulas so you NEVER have to look at your closet again thinking...

"I have nothing to wear!"

Monthly Q & A's:

How about if I told you that you can send me any questions that come up once you start cleaning out your closet?

Seriously!

I want you to succeed at this. I think it would be fun if I answer your questions via video at the end of each month :)

So ask away! I'll share a video with you at the end of this month answering ALL your questions. And you can ask me anything related to personal styling and closet clean outs. I'm here for you!

Here are a couple of Q's to help you get started:

🦄 If I were some kind of unicorn with a magic wand, what closet/styling problem do you wish I could solve for you?

😫 What have you tried in the past that didn't end up working out? (in relation to cleaning out your closet or personal styling)

Email me. At the end of September I will share a video answering all these questions.

We can learn so much from each other!

That's it from me today... was this enough to get you excited?

Please let me know your thoughts! This is the only way I can serve you better and meet you where you're at.

Don't wait for other people to ask the questions hahaha I know you 😅 I want to hear from all of you because we're all unique and we have different problems.

Next week I'm going to talk about different closet clean-out techniques and tips for organizing your closet! I will also be sharing 20 more outfits from the challenge and the list of the 30 things I have with me. You can use it as a checklist to help you get started with building your first capsule wardrobe!

Thanks so much for being here. Can't wait to do this together ♥️

XO,

Aimara

Buenos días amigos! Once again, we're saying hello from vibrant little Guanajuato. We've loved this city since arriving here, and we're already thinking that our January 31st departure is approaching way too quickly! Just look at this little colonial gem 🤗 We booked 4 weeks in Guanajuato, and the truth is we always go into these longer stays kind of blind. But we've been lucky that this place is (almost) exactly what we were looking for. It checks off so many boxes and we've found it so easy...
